In or Out

So Happy Mother’s Day.  I called Ed’s mom so that my son could wish her a happy mother’s day and then she wanted to talk to me.  She asked if he had been making efforts to be a dad.  And I told her the truth.  I also asked her to communicate to Ed that he was either a part of my son’s life or he was not.  No more broken promises, no more lies, no more phone calls, no contact.

I didn’t tell her that Ed is about to have his third strike with me on this.  I also didn’t tell her that his physicians think that he is using street drugs.  I did tell my class that he is a practicing addict.  It must be some weird alcoholic thing but it is starting to feel better for me to tell people that I couldn’t beat his addictions.
